  HELP: I killed my GBPVR ('zapmetadata)
Posted by: hansoffate - 2006-07-10, 09:41 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

Every time i try to watch a tv program.

I get "Error: The type of initializer for 'zapmetadata.DatabaseHelper' threw in an exception.

THe last thing i tried to do was uninstall zap tools or zap import (which ever one adds increased zap informaiton)

Should i just uninstall and reinstall?

Thanks

  Interesting duplicate channel bug.
Posted by: pwtenny - 2006-07-10, 09:40 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I tossed this problem around for a couple of hours, modifying the database by hand, deleting channels and letting the EPG update re-add them, and I finally figured this out (it's kind of obvious now.)

On my zap2it lineup, I have two channels with different numbers but identical names.

388 WNYW
882 WNYW

388 is a national feed, while 882 is supposed to be a local feed (I don't even get that channel, it's dead air.) Either through some fault of zap2it, or gbpvr, the following channel is added: "882 388 WNYW", with source channel 904. (904 is from config/edit recording source, and doesn't jive with the stuff below here, I don't know why.) But that's not the only one. From the database:

125|880 380 WCBS||880|Y
128|880 380 WCBS||897|Y
127|882 388 WNYW||882|Y
130|882 388 WNYW||899|Y

Quick reference information: 880 and 380 are valid channels, 897 is not and doest not exist at all. 882 and 388 exist, while 899 does not.

The typical result of this is a channel with the wrong name and absolutely *no* guide data at all. (A small gripe: when you navigate the guide and hit a channel that has no actual data, the channel doesn't get highlighted at all, and if it's at the top of the screen, the guide stops scrolling upwards even when you hit normal channels with guide data again. You have to page-up to get it to scroll upwards again.)

Now that I realize why, I can just uncheck the redundant channels from my lineup, delete them again via config, and hopefully an EPG update will give me back my locals.

But I thought you'd like to know, because this isn't something I or anyone using zap2it can control as far as I know. Every time DirecTV adds channels, they are automatically added to your lineup whether you want them (or even get them) or not, and gbpvr happily and rightfully adds them as well, making conflicts like this potentially unavoidable. DTV is constantly expanding and adding channels, and I am always having to go in a delete them because 9 times out of 10, I don't even get them. I hate that.

Also, DirecTV has High-Def channels that have numbers go away all the way up into the 2100's. Just FYI.

  97.13, Sqlite & GBPVRWake?
Posted by: danIrl - 2006-07-10, 08:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

I have noticed with v97.13 that the GBPVR GUI sometimes crashes on resume from hibernation. I use the GBPVRWake ulility to restart the GUI process. Perhaps this has some undesired affect? Log attached.

  Wrong aspect ratio in photo library
Posted by: Stargrove1 - 2006-07-10, 06:50 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (7)

Hello,

I have a problem with the photo library. When I open a picture, the aspect ratio on the Monitor is correct, but on the TV-screen not. I use the TV-out of the PVR350 and I know that is possible to enter a correction factor anywhere in a config-file, but I do no longer know where. Does anybody know where I can do this?

  97.13 Music Library + Linux Share = Bad Sorting
Posted by: terrencegf - 2006-07-10, 06:35 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I just installed the latest version 97.13. I have my music on a Linux box and export the folder with Samba. This has worked fine in the past by using the "\\SERVER\share" directory format in gbpvr's config.xml file. It STILL works with 97.13 EXCEPT that the directories are NOT sorted in alphabetical order. Perhaps they are sorted in ext2 file handle order now?

Also, with the new Music/Video/Photo Libraries and my MediaMVP, I can no longer do PgUp/PgDn with the remote's ">|" and "|<" buttons as I could before. This makes getting to ZZTop nearly impossible since I have over 500 artists at the top folder level. I couldn't find other buttons on the Hauppauge Remote to do similar behavior.

I apologize if these issues were addressed in another post.

  SQLITE Error causing crash
Posted by: Jeff - 2006-07-10, 05:11 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

This may belong in the development thread. I get the following error

7/9/2006 10:04:18 PM.878 ERROR [2] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION:: System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteException: The database file is locked
Unable to close due to unfinalised statements
at System.Data.SQLite.SQLite3.Close()
at System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteConnection.Close()
at System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteConnection.Dispose(Boolean disposing)
at System.ComponentModel.Component.Finalize()

It happens while I am stress-testing a plug-in I am writing to do EPG searches. The plug-in directly accessing the database to do the querries. I am opening and closing the database often in rapid succession. It seems that GBPVR is doing something on a background thread and this problem comes up, sometimes right away sometimes after a while. I have the Visual Studio Express Edition so I don't have the tool that displays background threads so I don;t know what is causing this. I do know, however, that it is not one of my threads.

There seems to be problem updating the EPG (if I use the Update EPG from the tray icon).

I changed PriorityRecordings.xml file to point to the folder&drive where GBPVR is installed, but I still got the error.

Anyone can help?

Posted by: dvasco - 2006-07-10, 03:19 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

The video is wavy on the TV even when within the preview box. I am using the Nvidia 6200 output with VMR9 custom renderer and encoder passthrough deinterlacing. With avi 16x9 videos there is a wavy line in the middle and with 4x3 mpegs the sides waver. I am using version 97.13.
