  FileIOPermissions question
Posted by: KingArgyle - 2005-03-04, 06:58 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (7)

Okay, I have a problem, and haven't been able to figure it out so I figure somebody with more .NET exeperience than I have can point me in the correct direction. When trying to access a file on a network drive by launching a shell command, I'm getting a .NET security exception when trying to read files from a directory. If I run it though the debugger it works fine. I've tried a couple of different ways to get around it but so far no luck.

Any hints would be appreciated. A working example of code would be helpful.

  Auto disconnect?
Posted by: Atomike - 2005-03-04, 06:57 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

I don't know if this is possible, but can a "disconnect from internet" be sent as a command from a program? Or perhaps be done via "scheduled events", etc.? I'd love to have my computer auto-disconnect when my program guide stuff has finished downloading. As it is now, my disconnect is a bit of a gamble. Since like most folks, I have dial-up, I'm concerned about all my internet time being burned up doing nothing.
Thoughts?

  Using MVP/Dlink/AdsTech frontend ?
Posted by: elarifr - 2005-03-04, 01:27 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Hello,
I'm new to gbpvr and have some question about using front end for gbpvr.
As i have a small backend config, i can not use it for realtime mpeg4 transcode.
It seems that gbpvr work with media mvp only, but should it be done to support other media front end ?
At this time, the
DLink DSM320
DSM 320 Extended Info
or ADSTech MediaLink

are not so high cost product (~120 / 160euro) instead of (70/110 for mvp) and they process mpeg4 / divx files with hardware ic, support 54G wifi...

should such product be used in later time with gbpvr ?

maybe the mvp frontend should be a plugin for gbpvr so that over front end should be supported

GB-PVR Producing video files of 0 bytes
Posted by: fray_bentos - 2005-03-04, 01:08 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

When i record programs the .mpg file is produced but the file size is 0 bytes.  It seems GB-PVR is accessing the file because it cannot be opened during recording (as i would expect) but nothing is getting written to it.  Has anyone else had this problem? I searched and found people had suffered from recording finishing early, but not this problem.

Windows XP Pro, Nova-T PCI, whatever the latest software is to download.  Other than this issue i am extremely impressed, as soon as i make a long enough network cable i will be using my mvp with it.  Looking forward to that quite a lot, seeing what it can do.

Anyway anyone got any suggestions with how i can fix this?

Thanks, andy.

  Live TV not working
Posted by: rsleap - 2005-03-04, 09:33 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I cannot get the live tv section to work with my pinnacle 300i. It is recognised in the playback section but when i try to use the Tuning assistant it says it cannot find the specified card. I am using the PCTV (PAL) card, which is what i thought the 300i fundamentally is.

Any help would be great.

Webscheduling finally works - but not quite...
Posted by: piotre - 2005-03-04, 09:28 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I finally got the Webserver working. The only funny ting is, that when i press the fwd button to go to a different time or even day nothing happens (well the request on the host goes out - the Firefox wheel up right starts spinning) but nothing happens.

Switching to Manage Recordings or Search works.

Any ideas?
