  Supported music file formats
Posted by: paul_austen - 2005-01-01, 07:32 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

Is it correct that only MP3 files may be played using the following
PluginHelperFactory.getPluginHelper().AddAudioFileToQueue(musicFile);

I have tried playing WMA files without success.

  Recording to network drive?
Posted by: joche - 2005-01-01, 07:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I'm mapping a drive to a fileserver, but that won't work for recordings. When I change the recording folder to c:\ all works great. Is this a feature or a bug? For me it's very inconvenient atleast.

  DVD2MPEG or any other method
Posted by: jmolhava - 2005-01-01, 06:46 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (7)

Hi,
I have been using the mediamvp for a while now, but I cannot for the life of me get video from DVD's to work right.

I just tried the DVD2MPEG plugin. It made an mpeg file but the audio is about 2-3 seconds behind(on both the MVP and the PC). I also retried the mplex step. I have tried many different programs and methods. I have searched forums and followed 'how-to guides'. No matter what I do there is always something wrong with the end result. The closest I have gotten: on the PC all worked but on the MVP sound with no picture. That was with Auto GordianKnot.

At this point I just want to get an mpeg that can play back on the MVP. I don't care how big it is, and I would be willing to pay for a program that can really do it.

I know my PC is capable:
AMD64 3200+
512mb RAM

Thanks for any help!!!

P.S. mpegs made from analog video capture do work perfectly.

  A few new user questions?
Posted by: pmk - 2005-01-01, 06:26 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I am currently researching PVR software.  I do not have a capture card yet because I am trying to find software that has the functionality I need.  I have added some recordings so I can see what the general functionality is and checked the forums for the latest Hardware support etc but I have the following queries?

1. Where do I change the priority of a recording?

2. Instead of a "season pass" can you do a general free text search and add this as a recurring recording?

3. Is it possible to do a "record this program on all channels"?

4. How long has GBPVR been available?  How often are updates? Sorry to ask this (I am not asking for a new release) I just want to get an idea of how long it has been available, whether it is actively being developed and what has changed between versions?

5. What is the MediaMVP forum for?  Is this a seperate product or something that GBPVR provides?  Does this allow some kind of streaming setup?  e.g. one machine with GBPVR on it and this single machine can serve 2 TV's via a MVP or something?  Is this possible - can anyone provide some links so I can read up on what I would need (need MPG/AVI support)?

TIA

  Trying to present download statistics
Posted by: blader_se - 2005-01-01, 06:06 PM - Forum: Forum Issues & Documentation - Replies (1)

In order to present download statistics on the wiki, I have come across a number of obstacles. One of them is how to configure webalizer to report all .zip files (not just top 10).

As I'm assuming this is a wanted feature, I just wanted you to know that I'm still working on this one, and if anyone knows something, please let me know...

  DVD icon missing -v0.23.13
Posted by: audetteb - 2005-01-01, 05:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi, I'm having a problem with DVD playback... it doesn't work, no icon in the menu or anything. I've got the latest version, I've searched the forum for others with the same problem. I found one post where Sub said that it would be fixed in a maintenance release shortly, but that was a month ago, and there have been releases since that time. My DVD drive is a generic drive on E:, DVD2MPEG plugin works with it fine, but I just want to be able to play the damn DVDs straight up.

I've gotten everything else to work, except this one small piece... Can anyone help?

Oh, and Yes, I have the checkbox saying to show the DVD button checked... (Not sure why this is needed though, since you can disable at the plugins page.)

  Time update messing up recording
Posted by: sixgun - 2005-01-01, 11:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

My motherboard gains anything between 2 seconds and a minute every 15 minutes. So rather than go through all the hassle of sending it back and getting a replacement i decided to use some free time sync software and set up a scheduled task to update the time every 15 minutes.

I think this caused a problem with recording a specific program on christmas day (vicar of dibley on bbc1).

My theory is that the recording started, then the time got synced which put the clock outside of the program time (including padding) which then stopped the recording.

is there anyway the code could be modded to cope with this situation.

  My Music CD Burning
Posted by: reven - 2005-01-01, 09:13 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

Build: #1.0.1827.39688

ive added "Burn Playlist to CD" to my music, also ive added itunes support.

the burn to cd is done via nerocmd, so you need nero 6 or above or nero express. if you have to configure the plugin again and locate the "nerocmd.exe" file. once you've done that (if you have an older version of my music installed) you will have to edit the config.xml file and remove the duplicate my music settings and copy the "nerocmd" tag across (explained in the "my videos" thread).

the cd burning is pretty basic at the moment, i will improve via feedback, what you want etc. at the moment IT ONLY WORKS WITH MP3S!!!!. since those are the only files i can calculate the duration for, which it will read thru a playlist and add every mp3 found until the cd reaches 74mins capacity then it will burn the cd.

theres a temporary "CD is burning" display ive added (looks quite, dumb) wasnt sure where to put this, if anyone has any ideas let me know.

also can a few people test itunes support, i havent got itunes my self so i cant test this, pretty sure its working now.

once again if you find a bug, have a suggestion etc just ask.

also the skin has been updated so if you've made a skin for "my music" you'll have to reskin it.

  Browse TV Guide generating error
Posted by: joche - 2005-01-01, 04:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

When I (try to) browse the TV guide I get a prompt: "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object".

In the GBPVR.exe.log I find these errors:
<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">2005-01-01 04:50:50.145 ERROR [2] Unable to find node: /settings/SpecialElements/SpecialElement[@name="MenuType"]
2005-01-01 05:06:47.221 ERROR [2] Error: msg=0x8003 hwnd=0xb022e wparam=0xe5 lparam=0x0 result=0x0 : Object reference not set to an instance of an object. : at cd.a(Boolean&amp; A_0)
at bw.a(Boolean&amp; A_0)
at n.a(Object A_0, KeyEventArgs A_1)
at n.a(Message&amp; A_0)
[/QUOTE]

What can I do to elliminate this problem?

[UPDATE]
I generated a new XMLTV file and now it's working as a charm. However, I am in the opinion that this feature can't crash just because of a faulty xml-file. The XMLTV file is generated by a third party program in an automated manner leading it to sooner or later crash, wich shouldn't force GB-PVR down to it's knees.
