UpdateEPG.bat is not downloading DBA/ATSC data
Posted by: elstaci - 2018-07-13, 10:37 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

For some reason, I am unable to download DBA/ATSC data. Normally, When I run the UpdateEPG.bat, once it downloads the XMLTV data than it starts searching through all the DBA/ASTC channel frequencies. Now it seems to download the XLMTV data and end without searching DBA/ASTC channels. This started today for some reason. It was working fine up to now. In fact, about a week ago, I needed to clear the Scripts Cache and download the Zip2xml.exe program because it stopped updating. Once I ran the program it was working fine. In fact, I seemed to be getting what seems to be almost 24 hours of DBA/ASTC programming which I found very pleasing.

Today it stopped updating the DBA/ASTC data.

I have attached my Log files.

NextPVR divides up recordings the moment it writes recording-backup.xml for the day.
Posted by: ChaosMageX - 2018-07-12, 06:37 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

Today and yesterday, NextPVR divided up recordings running in the morning at the exact moment it wrote the recording-backup.xml file for the day. Below is a link to a screenshot of the recording-backup.xml files for today and yesterday, as well as a screenshot of the recording files of Morning Joe for today and yesterday, so you can see how their Date Modified timestamps match up perfectly.

Here is a backup of the logs from yesterday, July 11th, 2018:

Here is a backup of the logs from today, July 12th, 2018:

What exactly is going on? Why does NextPVR bifurcate recordings right as it finishes writing the recording backup file?

  Backup Recording Channel
Posted by: chodyjones - 2018-07-12, 02:53 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

Question.... More or less.

I have been using NextPVR for a week or so now. I use it with an IPTV provider reliability is fairly well but sometimes channels do not load.

Let me also state that I do not watch a lot of Live Tv but sometimes we do, and I like this option for the recording aspect.

I have setup a couple of recordings that have failed. The errors provided are Error 403 unable to find Capture device.

After looking deeper into this turns out the url for the stream is unreachable. It has came back up but initially during the time of the recording it was down.

My thought and question on this, Is there a way to setup a backup Channel to try if one fails? For example this recording was for CBS. The main channel with EPG data Is where the recording was scheduled but the provider also has several other East coast CBS options or a Global TV option that has the show playing at the same time.

Two things that just hit me while typing. I have 3 connections to this provider. I assume I could setup a secondary recording at the same time that will try to record. If they both work I will have 2 recordings.

Is there any plugin to handle this type? Or do you see it possible to build a plugin? I possibly could do that have not looked into it a lot but I am a dev.

Manual Recording - Entering channel number N gives me N-1
Posted by: jhyler - 2018-07-11, 08:55 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Sub,

In discussing the other issue I posted this morning you mentioned I could directly type in manual recording times. So I went to the PC (normally I use a remote without digits on it) and tried. It worked, though I found you have to enter the four digits on faith as there is no feedback until you hit the enter key. And it doesn't seem to work from the number pad on the keyboard even when num lock is on.

So then I wondered if the same thing would work with the channels. So I clicked on the channel, typed in "1058", but what happened is I got the channel associated with 1057. Tried several times but it always seems to be off by one.

This is just FYI, since as I said I am usually using the remote control and using arrows. Though being able to set times and channels numerically, maybe I should invest in a new remote with digits on it...

  Kodi and Webserver

Hello , I'm trying to connect to the webserver client and have no success with connecting. My main goal is to get my pc npvr to sync with kodi. I keep getting 0% channels added and when the system is turned on kodi says it couldn't connect to npvr.

  Manual Recording Improvements
Posted by: jhyler - 2018-07-11, 06:14 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

I suppose not a lot of people use manual recording, but recently I've been using it quite a bit and discovered a few minor improvements could make it a lot easier to use.

1) Have a preference for a default manual recording channel rather than starting at the beginning of the list.
2) Allow a duration as an alternative to a stop time.
3) When a start time is entered, "snap" the end time to the start time, or maybe start time + some preference, so it's closer to the desired end time and you don't have to wind it around the clock.

Manual Recording - "Tomorror" sometimes means "Day after Tomorrow"
Posted by: jhyler - 2018-07-11, 06:05 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

Version 4.2.2 (180623)

I'm writing this at 11AM on July 11 local time. If I create a manual recording for 12:30AM "tomorrow" (the 12th), the request will actually get saved as 12:30AM on the 13th. But if I create a manual recording for 3AM tomorrow, it gets saved correctly.

There seems to be something about how close the (dateless) time of day is to the (dateless) time of a recording request for tomorrow as to whether or not it works.

If I accidentally create a manual recording for earlier today, the request is accepted but immediately goes on the failed list with "recording service not running at this time". Which of course I probably won't notice until too late. It would be better if it wasn't accepted and I was told to fix my mistake.

NEWA scheduled recording update ability broken in 4.2.2
Posted by: snagglewest - 2018-07-11, 12:12 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - No Replies

We use the classic NEWA interface to do at least 95% of our recording scheduling around here. I found out quite by accident last night that 4.2.2 has broken the ability to update an existing scheduled recording. With POTUS interrupting network TV last programing last night at 9pm, I went into NEWA and plugged in an extra 90 min of padding on 2 scheduled recordings in case the networks decided to play the shows to their conclusion after the news conference. Much to my surprise the shows only recorded for the 60 min they were originally scheduled for. Yea, it's on me, I didn't double check to make sure the padding actually got added. Bottom line though is I can confirm though with some testing and its quite repeatable, that NEWA no longer can update and existing scheduled recording. You can delete a pending recording, just not adjust the pre and post padding.

Any chance the ability can get added back in?

  epg won't update
Posted by: donschjr - 2018-07-10, 07:52 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (15)

I updated my iptv channel list and wanted to up date the guide so I emptied epg then tried updating but it remains empty. I also use an HDHR prime for cable and my schedules direct isn't updating. when I click update epg I get a quick flash on screen of the updating message not the normal one that takes a minute or so.

Recording format changed from 1080P30 to 720P60 at some point and I have NO IDEA why
Posted by: lionelandre - 2018-07-10, 06:49 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

At some point between May and july of last year my nextPVR recordings switched from 1080P to 720P and I have no idea why. nothing has changed in my hardware, or software, but I figured I'd check with you guys if you have any clue why that may be and how I can get back to using 1080P ..

my tuner is a many years old HDHR Prime.

Obviously not a hugely urgent question, but it has been bugging me for a while now and I'd like to rectify it, but from what I'm reading here, it appears to be driven by Comcast / Xfinity, and there's nothing I can do? is that a correct statement? Thanks in advance!
