KODI unexpected error/hang while setting a recording from EPG in Kodi
Posted by: m0bov - 2016-10-10, 05:08 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (2)

Having problems setting recordings via Kodi's EGP. I click on a program and I get a pause of about 15 sec then along the top I get unexpected error, check log. If I try again sometimes it then sets the recorder, sometimes on the third or forth attempt.

Using Kodi 16 RC3
Next PVR 3.8.3

Debug log shows
17:43:19 T:9272 ERROR: PVR - PVR::CPVRClient::AddTimer - addon '127.0.0.1:connected' returned an error: the command failed
17:43:19 T:9272 ERROR: PVR - PVR::CPVRClients::AddTimer - cannot add timer to client '211867': the command failed

I believe its a caching issues? I have turned off caching in Kodi which helps a little, but it still happens quite a bit.

  Channel order after recreating database
Posted by: marc - 2016-10-10, 11:46 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hi,
I had been having a problem where it was taking at least 3 seconds to move between the various recordings menus (eg. what's new, pending, recurring) and concluded that the database was possibly corrupt. So I exported the recordings, and recurring recordings and channels from setup then deleted the database, restarted the program to create a new database and imported the exported the recordings, and recurring recordings and channels using setup. This has fixed the original problem but now I have lost the grouping of channels (same channel on DVB-T and sat sources) the EPG sources for them and messed up the order. Have I missed a step or is there an easy way recovering this info from the original database (copy I kept) as I know sorting all of that out in a sensible order takes forever.

Thanks for any ideas help.

Modern guide not working since upgrading to 3.8.3
Posted by: Drake718 - 2016-10-10, 05:08 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Ever since updating to 3.8.3 the web based modern guide no longer has any data in it. It lists all the channels but no shows. I've tried IE 11, Firefox and chrome. resizing the windows has no effect. The guide in the GUI and the older version of the web guide works fine. I am accessing it from the same machine running NextPVR using localhost. My guide data is provided via an xmltv.xml file produced with zap2xml which runs from task scheduler.

  NLite windows build
Posted by: sub - 2016-10-09, 05:28 PM - Forum: NLite - Replies (110)

NLite is an open source client for NextPVR, which I've experimented with over the last couple of months. It shows the same user NextPVR user interface you're used to, but uses VLC components for playback. It's very experimental at this stage, if you'd like to try it out, I'd appreciate any feedback on how you get on.

You can download a Windows build from http://www.nextpvr.com/nlite-win32.zip

I'd recommend updating your nextpvr.exe to the own attached.

On screen indication after updating recurring recording during reschedule
Posted by: BrettB - 2016-10-09, 03:03 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Currently when updating a recurring recording via either the web client or NextPVR.exe on the server, it takes a little over 2 minutes for it to reschedule all of the recurring recordings after I click the OK button. (See the end of the webclient.log and npvr.log in the attached logs folder.)

On the webclient, there is no indication that anything is happening during that time. On the PC, the cursor is a wait cursor, but that is the only indication. It would be nice if the pop-up would be closed before the recurring recordings reschedule (so that the user isn't still trying to click OK/Cancel or to move around on that pop-up) and for some sort of "Please wait" message to be displayed.

Modern Web Home Screen "Available Disk Space"
Posted by: BrettB - 2016-10-09, 02:21 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Does the "Available Disk Space" section on the home screen of the Modern web interface ever display anything for anyone or is that future functionality? I don't use the web interface very often, but have never seen it display anything in that section. It might have something to do with my configuration. I've got an SSD system drive and 3 additional drives where I store recording files.

Two Hauppauge WinTV-Starbursts with two DiSEqC switches possible?
Posted by: neil... - 2016-10-09, 11:03 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Dear All

I've just started out with NextPVR (although I was using GBPVR for many years some time ago), and am extremely happy with how it works in my current setup.

Dish pointed towards Astra 28.2
Second offset LNB to receive Astra 19.2
WinTV-Starburst
DiSEqC 1.0 switch (to bring the Astra 19.2 and Astra 28.2 feeds onto a single cable for the Starburst)
Kodi as clients on Kindle FireTV Stick, Windows Laptop and MacBook Air

The only limitation, which I would like to overcome is only having one tuner and sometimes wanting to watch/record two channels at the same time.

Could I simply add a second WinTV-Starburst and a second DiSEqC in the same PC? Is it possible to have two TV cards the same in this way?
Will this give me the full flexibility to watch/record any of the following combinations at the same time (for live TV, watching on two different clients of course)?
- Astra 19.2 / Astra 28.2
- Astra 19.2 / Astra 19.2
- Astra 28.2 / Astra 28.2

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Setting for # of days EPG download
Posted by: BrettB - 2016-10-08, 10:37 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I was just looking in my NRecord.log file and noticed several error messages during the EPG update like:

Code:
2016-10-07 03:49:17.855 [DEBUG][11] 829 A&E { "stationID": "51529", "serverID": "20141201.web.2", "code": 7020, "response": "SCHEDULE_RANGE_EXCEEDED", "minDate": "2016-10-07", "maxDate": "2016-10-27", "requestedDate": "2016-10-28", "message": "Date requested (2016-10-28) not within 2016-10-07 -> 2016-10-27 for stationID 51529." } 2016-10-07 03:49:17.855 [ERROR][11] (829 - A&E): Date requested (2016-10-28) not within 2016-10-07 -> 2016-10-27 for stationID 51529. 2016-10-07 03:49:17.855 [DEBUG][11] Date requested (2016-10-28) not within 2016-10-07 -> 2016-10-27 for stationID 51529.

I'm using the built-in, direct Schedules Direct EPG. I'm quite sure that I recall NextPVR having a setting for the number of days of EPG to download in the past. But I couldn't find it in either any of the current setting screens or in the config.xml file.

Was the setting removed?

  Missing Channel icons
Posted by: kelsdogz1 - 2016-10-08, 02:54 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I have the data media/channels populated with my channel icons but only about a third show in the guide.
The names match exactly, and if I replace the working icons with different image it changes in the guide.
Is there some sort of reset to allow it to re-import icons?
