Well you got that one right, as usual.... I tried C:\Temp and it (LiveTV+ TS) worked.
Then I tried to delete D:\GBPVRLiveTVBuffer - It didn;t want to delete. SO I unshared it rebooted and deleted it OK, recreated it and it (LiveTV + TS) worked. Must have been when I tried to share it to another VISTA PC as a client.

Thanks!

btw the diff between client Filesharing and Streaming ...? Streaming can't do LiveTV or is there some other reason for using one over the other?

With Streaming mode the data is sent between server and client using raw TCP/IP. With File Sharing the files are read from disk on network shares.

Streaming only copes with .mpg files. People using .dvr-ms, .ts files etc need to use the file sharing option.

Turns out I had the same problem after a fresh install of Vista and gbpvr. I don't recall having this issue on version 1.2.9 before my reinstall of Vista.

gbpvr was set (must be by default) to put recordings and live buffer into c:\temp, but that dir did not exist. Should it have created it or should there have been some message somewhere for me to go fix it myself? I'll post all my logs, perhaps the message about the dir not being there is in there somewhere.

Just create a directory somewhere that the recording service can write to, then set the recording directory setting in the config app.

Sorry, guess I forgot to mention that's what I did and it works now. Smile Just thought maybe there was a problem that it didn't do things right from the start.

Hmm.. Now I'm going to have to test this.

(Everything works fine, but LiveTV stutters for me alot)

I also have the connect pins error. Will post my own thread if this doesn't clear it up.

But sharing seems to prevent viewing "in progress" recordings.

It should be fine for in-progress recordings, with the exception of .dvr-ms files, which cant be played from another machine until the recording completes.
