Hi all. I was wondering which of these models is best for GB-PVR?

I would like to build an HTPC that allows me to use GB-PVR on my 53" widescreen, as well as play standard .WMV, .MOV, .AVI, .MPG files from my harddrive.

I noticed that the PVR-150-MCE has RCA jack hookups, and the PVR-150 doesnt but comes with a remote.

Oh, and I have DirecTV, if it makes a difference. Thanks to anyone who can help.

They're pretty much the same. It comes down to whether you want th cheaper price and FM in the PVR150MCE, or the remote and IR blaster of the PVR150.

Since you have DirecTV you may prefer the PVR150 since it has an IR Blaster for controlling your directv box.

If price is an issue, the PVR-150 has just gone on sale at Future Shop (cdn store). Do a search on http://www.futureshop.ca, as it's gone from $150 to $100 cdn.

sub,

Thanks. Would a standard MCE-remote work as a replacement on GB-PVR, or is the IR Blaster a proprietary, Hauppauge thing?

You can use the MCE remote to control GB-PVR.

The blaster is for controlling an external set top box, its not directly related to the remote control.

hi Sub,
So can the builtin IR blaster in PVR USB2 (941 model) control DirecTV box as well? if it doesn't, than I'd better return the USB2 quick and buy PVR-150 instead.

There is no IR blaster in PVR USB2 (941 model). Only the PVR150 retail has the IR blaster plus remote control in the box.
