Quote:I'm getting the same sort of problem. Everything was working fine, then about a month or two ago, the EPG stopped updating automatically. I now have to go in every week and manually get the EPG (which works just fine). I'm wondering whether there's a security level issue - does the application when auto getting the EPG run at the same permissions level as when getting it through the Config app?
It runs as a different user account.

The reason why the auto epg update is failing should be listed in the GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log. Post it and I'll take a look.

Any suggestions? Should I reinstall the GBPVR, upgrade, or ? Is there any other way to record shows using a separate program?

Right now I can't see the TV listings, can't schedule any recordings, and can't download any EPG updates. The fall lineup is coming soon...HELP!

It makes me think there is something wrong with the Microsoft XML components on your machine, otherwise I'd get the same parser error. I'm not sure what needs to be reinstalled to fix this.

I wouldnt have though so, but given I dont have any other suggestions, its probably worth a go. Try uninstalling, deleting the GB-PVR directory, then reinstalling (ie, not an upgrade).

Ok, going on the information read elsewhere on this site about firewall issues I shut down all 3 of my firewalls...BINGO! everything is now functioning correctly! I then restarted each one independently and found that it was the Windows firewall causing the problem. Windows firewall has been off (and my other 2 firewalls are turned back on) and things are running smoothly...just in time for the fall lineup. Thanks so much for all the efforts put in on my behalf. If anyone else is having a problem I suggest you check your firewall(s).

Similar problem here.. My EPG is empty, and I can't update the EPG at all (manually or automatically), even if I manually empty it first. I have automatic updates on for Windows XP - any idea if any particular updates cause this to happen?

My Zap2it subscription is still valid, just checked on their website...

As per your request, I've sent the log file requested.

Many thanks.
