I am going to supplement my existing 150 with this WinTV-HVR-1600. Does or will GBPVR support this multi tuner card? I am in the US looking to add the ability to record OTA HD in addition to my currently ability to record via the svideo input on my 150.

Thanks,
Josh

Yeah, I've seen a couple of reports of it working well.

Hmm. Not the confident response I was looking for from the programmer. Wink alrighty, I'll go ahead and purchase it and post any problems I have.

Thanks,

I actually thought that was a confident response Big Grin

Its a very new device, so not much info on it yet. I've only seen a reports from a couple of users, both indicating it works well. I've not seen seen any reports of problems with it.

Just remember that it is a Hauppauge card (hardware encoding but software decoding) and ATSC HD with software decoding takes a pretty good video card and CPU or else it will max out your system. My Sempron 3000+ (Barton core) with a GF3 Ti200 card is not sufficient.

It has XP/Vista drivers and installing on Windows 2000 will bluescreen at boot. (I have a very beta Win2000 driver)

The normal setup installs a Mainconcept/Elecard filter for HD (HcwSmd07 I think) in case you don't like additional filters in your system. I would be prepared to reinstall your preferred filters to get the merits sorted out. (This may be Greek to you right now but pay attention to any strange functioning of other applications like DVD players or MediaPlayer)

It actually comes with a background recording application. If it works for you then you will be the first to get it to work.
