Had TOO many problems with the 1.0.16 version:mad: Missing channels in the guide, choppy live TV, too many features missing from previous version.

99.12 works perfectly!

I will have to admit, that I was very happy with 99.12. I know that we must move forward, and that PVRX2 is the way we are headed, but we need to strive to get the problems worked out. I have made it through many of the problems, but even though I have read through all the posts on playback that is dark, and have tried what I have read, I still can't seem to get the darkness taken care of. If someone does not have a GOOD solution to the problem, I will have to go back to 99.12 as well until this problem gets fixed.

Rather than uninstalling and then re-installing 99.12 you could try just running GBPVR.exe instead of PVRX2.exe. I think GBPVR.exe is basically version 99.12 (so should work as you expect) but Sub won't be developing it anymore and it will eventually be dropped altogether.

The only difference I know of is that plugins need to be placed directly in the plugins folder rather than each in their own sub folders under the plugins folder.

The nice thing about this is you can use the old version most of the time and when you have free time you can try and solve your issues with the new version. I'm sure you'll eventually do away with the old version completely!

Cheers
Tony

I couldn't get my missing channels to show up under GBPVR included with 1.0.16 (ch 9 & 11) Everything works perfectly in 99.12.

I'm happy to look into it for you. I'll get you to email your database to me and I'll take a look. I'm sure there will be a good reason for it.

Honestly, I read every single post here, and I dont think there are any significant problems with PVRX2. For most people it seems to be working fine. Sure there are some people having problems, but there doesnt seem to be major things causing problems - if there were, and they were affecting lots of people, then I'd be providing patches for those problems pretty damn quickly.

Every release there seems to be a small group that indicates the last release was much better for them and that they'll be staying with that release.

I think that timing is playing a factor too. At the same time as the 1.0.x release

- zap2it personal use died, causing countless problems in the program guide especially for those that don't go to Schedules Direct (a second timing problem on its own)

- Vista use appears to be growing

- adding new HD tuner as SD is phasing out.

- the new fall season (at least here in N.A.).

- way too many people not reading the survival guide

Ok some obsolete video cards won't work anymore, but users should be able to upgrade for $50-100 CDN (I don't have to distinguish this from US anymore!), for what they are getting and what they will get that is a bargain.

Yeah, I'd have to agree. I'd say 80% of posts are about problems directly related to these.

Just my $0.02 but I think the majority of the problems seem like people haven't completely cleared out the old channels before switching to SchedulesDirect. Even if you remove the capture source there could be some left over entries in the database. I think it would be best if they exported the recordings, started with a fresh copy of the blank database and imported after getting the tuners all set up. It just seems like almost all of the problems revolve around that. Or use SQLSpy or something to go in and manually remove the "hangover" channels. That's how I did it.

Before zap2it left, sub gave a good explanation of why there is a problem and then zehd joined in on how zschedfix might help here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=28404.
