I have searched all around and cannot find any information if the ATI TV Wonder works with NextPVR or not. Does anyone know?

Is anyone using a WinTV-HVR-2250 capture card to IR blast
a DCT700 digital set top box? I use Shaw cable in Canada.
If so, can I have a copy of your HCWBlast.ini file?
Two years ago I installed a WinTV-HVR-2250 capture card
in a new computer along with Windows XP / GB-PVR. However
from day 1, I was never able to get the IR blaster to work
properly with zeros. I configured and tested the IR codes
with the Blaster Configuration program (blastcfg 7.3.28312).
I successfully used the Blaster Configuration program
"Learning Action" section to learn the digits 1-9 from my remote
control but even though the software says that I have also
successfully learned 0 (zero), the 0 will not work when it's
sent back to my DCT700 digital set top box using the Blaster
Configuration program. The problem is 100% reproducible using
blastcfg, GB-PVR is not involved.
So, for example, when I change channels to "30" I really
get "3". Or when I try "103" I get "13". I can see the digits
appearing on my TV screen, apart from the zero. In all cases,
the red light on the back of the IR blaster flashes.
The DCT700 remote control works fine with all digits so it
would appear that the problem is related to blastcfg or a faulty
IR receiver.
I want to buy a pc that I could put in my living room. Something that's small enough to look like it belongs there, not a full sized pc.
But at the same time, something that I can open up and add a tuner (or two?) to.
And something with USB that'll let me plug in an IR sensor (perhaps this needs to be a powered USB?)
At the moment I'm looking to have just one machine to be the client + server in one, but I'd be very interested to hear about separate client and server ideas too because I might upgrade to that eventually.
Does anyone have any up-to-date recommendations please of which models I could look at, or what they're using please?
There are always new products coming to the market so I'm looking for up-to-date recommendations.
Thanks
I have tried NDroid 1.9 on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and works well. On an LG Optimus 4x, trying to connect to the service fails and I just see the NDroid Robot and spinning circle that goes on forever. In fact, entering any IP address or URL gives the same result so there is no indication as to whether the connection is still trying to be made or the program has hung and is just repeatedly showing the spinning circle wait icon.
Now, when I restart the LG Optimus Phone, NDroid attempts to update the EPG but I see a "Download Failed" message. I have cleared app data and also uninstalled and reinstalled but still same problem.
I am not sure what the problem is and if I am required to upload logs, please advise where I can access the log files.
Hi!
I've been using Windows Media Center for years with three Hauppauge HDPVR recorders. With Microsoft not longer improving Media Center, I'm looking at alternatives. Can someone confirm that I can use multiple HDPVR devices on the same computer with NextPVR? It used to be a problem early on with Media Center.
Thanks
I have been a happy user of GBPVR with a PVR150 card, and Media MVP for quite a few years. I have even been using it with a HDTV for a few years, but decided it was time to move into the 21st century and upgrade.
So I picked up a HD Homerun Prime, and ordered up a CableCard, and was told I needed a tuning adapter from my Cable provider (Time Warner).
I found a PCH A110 on ebay, and since I recently inherited another PC, I wiped it and started fresh. I am running Windows XP SP3, sorry I don't have access to anything newer at the moment.
I think I stumbled across many of the different config issues mentioned in the forums.
- Firewall
- HDHR Main Application set to NextPVR vs Other: ATSC/QAM
- scanned the QAM device and not the HDHR device which is for CableCard
- I liked the comment about "codec hell" in the wiki/forum, I was there when I first tried to bring this up on my current GBPVR system without the NMT.
- It seems like there were a few more along the way
So getting to my question, I am not getting all the channels in NextPVR that I would like. I have read about copy freely vs copy once, etc, and had hoped that with the CableCard plugged into the HDHR, that I would be able to see most if not all the channels I can see on my TV with the TWC set-top-box.
In particular, I know I have recorded SD History channel (channel 51 in my area) with the GBPVR/PVR150 setup, but now with NextPVR/HDHR, I don't see 51, or the HD version at 818 locally.
When I go the HDHR Setup app, (5 tabs Location, Application, Tuners, CableCARD, Advanced), after scanning the first tuner in the CableCARD tab, I see all the channels I could ever want, which include 51 HIST, and 818 HISTHD. And actually, as I am typing this, I just clicked on 51 and then 818, and I get a popup titled HDHomeRun Windows Media Player Plugin, that says This channel cannot be displayed because it is marked as copy protected by your cable provider. You will need to use Windows Media Center to access this channel.
I was going to say, when I scan via NextPVR, I get many channels, but History and many other HD channels are not on the list.
When I go to http://<ip_addr>/lineup.xml?show=unprotected they are not there, but are when I drop the show=unprotected.
So I am starting to see where the problem lies.
- So even though I am renting a CableCARD, I still can't watch/record these copy protected channels? I am starting to wonder why I am renting the CableCARD.
- Is this a function of the digital tuner? If I were to add my analog PVR150 to the new setup, would I be able to watch/record at least the SD channels?
- or do I not have NextPVR configured correctly yet? I think I already know the answer to this one, but I can hope....
Larry
PS. I apologize if this exact question has been covered in the forums, but it's kinda like information overload out there. There is sooo much info out there, and every situation is slightly different, it can be hard to connect the dots.
I'm using GetPlaybackPostion in my plex plugin, but NextPVR doesn't every seem to post anything other than 0. I think it's because I'm calling it from a timer - which I'm learnt before seems to run in another thread.
What method of timing should I use for a plugin to periodically do things? is needsrendering my only method?
I have a merged channel that has started playing up. My thought is that one of the frequencies in the merge has become weak (I got some blockies out of it this morning rather than the normal crash). Problem is the unmerge option seems to do nothing so I cannot unwrap the poor frequencies from the good.
Anyone got any idea about what to try next? XML file hacking I gues....
I can't access NEWA on windows 7. I have allowed port 8866 through my windows 7 firewall and my macafee firewall and my router firewall. heck, i turned off the firewall on my computer and put the pc in DMZ mode and 8866 is still closed. I changed the port on npvr and did the whole thing on a random other port, no luck. I've searched the forums and I don't even know what keywords to look for. please help.
