Hi guys,

I'm setting up a new HTPC using the following :

Vista Home Premium 32 SP1
Gigabyte GA-MA78GPM-UD2H (780g chip witn HD3200 ATI video)
PowerDVD 9 Ultra
Hauppauge Nova-T 500

Now i've installed Vista, put in chip and video drivers for MB. Installed SP1. Installed nova-t drivers (but not powercinema that came bundled with nova card) and powerDVD9 Ultra. Installed GBPVR (latest version). When in GBPVR config I cannot select cyberlink codecs for h.264 or AAC3 etc as the only option showing is system default. I can however select cyberlink codec for Mpeg2 decoder. I have enabled hardware acceleration in powerdvd9.

I have in the past tried powercimema that came with the hauppauge card but could not find any where to turn on hardware acceleration. I could however select the cyberlink codecs for the h.264 decoder in gbpvr config but as always I only ever got a blank black screen watching live TV.

I've rebuilt this system multiple times and no matter what cannot get any picture on freeview HD channels nor the SD channels. I can scan for them and pick up the guide but when viewing liveTV in GBPVR I just get a blank screen.

I've not installed any other codecs as im unsure what else I need. Anyone offer any advice here?

As the title says, I'm using USB-UIRT (to change channels) and while it works in Live TV, it doesn't do anything when scheduling recordings. That is, the channel just stays at whatever it was initially.

I'm using GB-PVR 1.3.11 on Windows Vista SP1 (32-bit). The cable box is a Motorola DCT700. Logs are attached.

when i am watching live tv on GB-PVR the picture is more in black and white, but when i record shows they record fine in color...any suggestions?

Live TV is a bit "zoomed" or stretched on the MVP compared to the direct antenna reception on TV. It is cutting off some text and the people look fatter. I thought it might be the output resolution in Zprocess, but it is set to 720x576 which is correct for PAL.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I was getting BBC Look East, but I did another channel scan, and now I seem to be only recieveing BBC East Midlands today when I am watching the news (or when it's on) If I select the Sandy Heath transmitter I don't get any BBC channels, I just get the others, so I choose all regions and I end up getting the East Midlands signal. Could anyone help?

As Freeview in my area has recently been f*&#ed around with what's the easier way of getting the DVB-T radio plugin to perform a rescan like it does on a clean install?

Has anyone else hit bottlenecks on the speed of their hard drive? I have an old IDE 7200rpm hard drive on my system. When I am playing back HD video I've been having problems if something else is using the hard drive heavily at the same time. The CPU usage is always relatively low.

Recently the problem for me was when CCExtractor kicked off on a finished recording while I was watching another HD recording. It became unwatchable. For now, I've taken CCExtractor out of my PostProcessing.bat file. This made the playback much better, but it would still stutter occasionally when comskip was running at the same time.
I've also run into problems when recording 2 HD shows while watching another, but that has been a lot less common occurrence.

I'm debating between just getting a newer, faster SATA hard drive or setting up a RAID 0 array (which I'd like to avoid). It seems like hard drive speed hasn't been an issue for a PVR setup in the past, but the HD transistion may be pushing traditional hard drives too far.

The My Programs plugin on the wiki has a nice list of emulators and their required config.

Does anyone use, or know of, any others? I'm really after their configuration rather then links to emulator websites.

I just get a black screen (blank) when I click on some show from the TV guide listings - it shows the show info and a couple of buttons, as if it thinks the show is playing in the background - but it is just a black screen. I thought it was just because my EPG data was all messed up, but I am getting good data now, or at least intelligible data.

Any comments?

I installed all the patches in the 1.3.11 survivor guide and I have downloaded my epg via Schedulesdirect.com (7-day trial) and when I try to map the channels to the epg, it seems to go all the way to the end of the scan and then gives the following error. I've attached the config logs as well.
