So I am trying to make a concoction of scripts to take my MPG recordings from GBPVR to Divx or Xvid doesnt matter really, while cutting out the commercials, If I am reinventing the wheel please tell me I dont want to transcode at the time of my recording necessarily so i am trying to just do it on shows after the fact like ones I cant get to in a reasonable amount of time. I wish GBPVR had a feature to do this. Anyways here is how it works

everything works up until cuttermarran trys to open the project file it does not seem to like the audio file (.m2v I think or it is the other one) that ddmux spits out what is up with that. Anyone know why it would not like that audio file. I dont think it is a script still running I have tried stopping the script and just opening the cuttermarran in cpf file by itself still no dice. Thanks.

Newbie here so be easy with me.

Looking to buy components to make a HTPC, to connect to my 37" LCD screen and HiFi system. TO be used mainly for Watching pre-recorded films, listening to music and the odd bit of live tv.

I currently have a Core2Duo system with a Radeon X1600. But this system is rather loud, power suppliy being the main culprit. I am not sure if i want to use this system or build a new one. Not looking to spend a fortune, something around the £200 mark.

What sort of hardware do you recommend for this?

It will be nice to have the DVD gallery view as in the picture enclosed in the VIDEO LIBRARY

Got a Hauppauge Nova t 500 HD. Both tuners are defined to gbpvr and have an epg. But if I try to record two channels at the same time from the guide gbpvr complains when I try the second program about there being a conflict and I have to cancel one.

But interestingly I have a pvr250 also in the system (again its own egp) and if I have a DVB-T recording scheduled I can record something on the PVR250.

Finally if I have a program scheduled on DVB-T via the epg I can schedule a manual recording on a DVB-T channel at an overlapping time and it accepts it and records.

Is the way it should work? Shouldn't gbpvr look down the tuners and allow two programs at the same time?

I have a xp build on a dual core amd system using onboard nvidia 8200 graphics (hdmi with sound output that has hardware hd video decoding capability).

I have been using mediaportal, but after having some stability issues, I am giving gbpvr a try.

I have scanned my channels (dvb-s/dvb-s2) and can watch live tv.. the channel change is nice and quick compared to MP, but I am getting breakups in the sound which I have never had on MP. They are quite frequent too - and it happens on SD or HD content (seems to be more often on HD) it is like the sound cuts in and out all the time.

Anyone able to suggest what to look at here? I assume its changing the codec, but unlike video there are not that many options to pick from!

I have installed the latest msi and now have gbpvr running on WHS. I dont have an TV cards setup yet, but wanted to test to make sure the MVP was OK under WHS.
However, I have tried to use the \\server\video share mappings for the video library but cant get it to work. The directory shows up on the MVP, but nothing happens when I click on it. I have also mapped the share to a drive letter and tried that, but get the same result. Are there specific permissions I need to set for this drive letter ? I went with a blanket 'all access' for Everyone, but that didn't help.
I can play vids if I set GBPVR to look at a folder on c:

Any thoughts ?

I've rebuilt my GBPVR box, resintalled all drivers etc, using dual WinTV Nova-T PCI cards which have worked before.
When adding the new capture sources and auto tuning them in the config tool, it seems to crash when scanning multiplex 6 of 7 (UK, Freeview).

Even if I completely rebuild the box. How can I start to diagnose where the problem is ?

It happens in the same place for both cards, so I'm not sure both cards have developed the same fault.

Any ideas / suggestions ?

Hi, when using the TuningAssistant for the analog part of my hybrid card (HVR2200), whenever I get told a channel has been detected, the message says I 'should watch the channel to confirm which it is'.
Is a preview of the channel meant to appear in the upper part of this utility? There is a large blank area, so was wondering if that was what (if anything) was meant to be there?
(I can post a screenshot if necessary...)

I quickly looked at the wiki (and unless I missed it), didn't see any relevant screenshots.

I'm trying to do this but I know very little of cable and the signals in terms of required/compatible cards. I'm trying to find out how to tell what kind of card I need to get for this. I have a high definition digital light projection (I think is what it's called) TV. How do I know what card to buy to make things work? Help please! ~Joanne
