Hi, after I have deleted the information for the capture sources there is still channel information hanging around under the channel tab in the configuration. How do I get rid of this? It is corrupting my channel line up when I do have a capture source installed.

Hi, is there anyway to remove the watermark (aka 'DOG' or 'BUG') that broadcasters typically put in one corner of the screen when broadcasting? Is there some sort of plugin available?
Obviously some are more opaque than others; some completely solid so there'd be no way to remove them without leaving part of the screen blank! But some are mostly transparent...

Has anyone ever written any code to do this? I'm not interested in post-processing (except maybe for something pre-recorded), so real-time image manipulation like this might mean your average PC wouldn't be grunty enough to do this on-the-fly?

Hi, noob GBPVR user here.
I just installed GBPVR, but don't yet have my DVB-T card. I'm impatient and just wanted to try out GBPVR, try the program guide, etc... but when I click on the guide the program locks up.
Maybe I shouldn't be so damn impatient! The error is probably because I don't have any hardware plugged in yet but I thought it may be useful reporting anyway. Here's what seems to be the relevant part of the pvrx2.exe.log file:

Hi, I'm new to GBPVR and am about to build a new HTPC (or at least new PC with a DVB-T card).

I saw a review of the AVerTV Hybrid TV Speed PCI-e TV card (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=7804) and was impressed by the CPU dropping from 85% to 15% once running GBPVR - cool!

Has anyone got any experience with the above card, and any issues? One possible problem - I want a card capable of decoding 1080p and it looks like this only does 1080i. Are there any cards that do 1080p?
I'm in Wellington (New Zealand) and want to decode the Freeview DVB-T signal. If I understand correctly the highest res broadcast currently is 1080i, but I'm hoping that they'll go to 1080p eventually.
I'm also quite keen to have a hybrid card so that I can still get the analog stations that are not yet on (or will not be made available on) freeview. Failing that, can GBPVR also control my old analog TView99 (BT 848/878? chipset)? And alongside a DVB-T card?

I do not want to start a flame war, but I had great hopes for the PopCornHour.

After 3 days the unit died. Then they sent me back the unit with no sound.

It took a lot of time to get an RMA from MediaTank.

Today I was reading the PCH Forums and realize that a lot of PCH recipients had the same problem with the unit not turning back any more, and had to be replaced.

And now the new firmware (June) broke a lot of things with MKV files and other stuff.

What a letdown !!!!

With my DVICO dual digital BDA tuner, I get the following error:

"Gbpvr was unable to start the BDA device you configured, check the device is properly configured, and not already in use."

Does anyone know of an easy way to determine what else (if any) process is trying to use the BDA device?

I have web scheduling enabled in config but even using:

I can not access it.

its windows vista ultimate, windows firewall off.
I'm not even sure where to start with this. I did try deleting the /bin folder in the gbpvr/web folder so that GBPVR would reinstall the web service but that did not help.

I've been trying comskip, and wonder if anyone has seen this:

Comskip works for all the dvr-ms files I've created from my HVR-1600 off qam-256 cable, with one exception. All of the files recorded from one channel - a 480i channel - crash comskip with the Windows error message that Comskip.exe has encountered an error and needs to close. Oddly, this is a channel that has no commercials, but so far, every recording causes the crash. The popup crash window is annoying. The crash happens on a manual run too, and it always crashes in the log after creating this line:

AC3 sound at 48 khz
and after creating an empty .txt file

If run in debug, I see some video in the window, then the crash occurs.

If I can't fix this, is there a way to just tell GBPVR not to run for this one channel?

On certain files in my video library, the resume option will not work. Also, clicking pause/ff/rew on the firefly remote does not work until after I click the "Help" button. Weird. This is in pvrx2.exe.

Hello.

I have the Hauppauge PVR 500, which has the composit inputs as well as coax. Is it possible to use GBPVR to record from the composite inputs as well? So, instead of allowing GBPVR to control the channels from the coax input, can I set it to record from the other inputs on the PVR 500?
