when you select to manual record, you get the option to set the start and end time. only thing is, its in 24 hour format. i know its convenient, but is there an option for 12 hour AM/PM?
also when in the TV Guide, you can select a program to record by selecting "Record". you get the option to set the padding. i think there should be an optional setting to set the start time/end time just like manual recordings. say you only want to record only 10 minutes of the program instead of the whole show.
you may say, why not just manual record those 10 minutes or so? well, manual recordings don't save the details for your recordings. using, "Record" does and it looks much nicer in your recordings.
I'm not sure how to describe my issue but here goes.
I'm using the pvr-350 tv-out which works fine except that when I exit GBPVR the last frame of whatever was being viewed (live TV, Video or Main Menu) stays on the TV screen. It's like a frozen image but my system is not frozen.
If I was to restart GBPVR all is fine and I can navigate etc no problems.
If I exit GBPVR and run any other program like WinTV2000 (live tv), the GBPVR last frame image stays on the TV screen and the WinTV2000 is running 'behind' it. It's like the GBPVR image is overlayed on top of any other image.
I can see the edges of the live tv (underneath) as the GBPVR output image does not take up the whole screen.
It's like the image does not get 'flushed' from the system when GBPVR exits.
I've tried disconnecting the s-video cable but it's still there when I reconnect.
The only way to 'flush' the image off the screen is by rebooting the computer which is not something I want to have to do all the time.
I have tried other software like Sage etc and when I exit those the TV screen goes black like you would expect.
Does anyone have or had a simular experience?
Live in N. America using ZAP2it and EPG update gives you WEBEXCEPTION.system not configured properly.
I found out that if you go through a proxy your EPG will not update.
Make pc bypass proxy and EPG will authenticate properly and no error msg will popup.
1) Can you set up the big green button to send the computer into hibernate?
2) This is probably a big no but can you also use that same green button to wake the PC from hibernate?
After resuming from hibernate live television stutters continuously. I have to shut down GBPVR and restart it in order for video to behave normally.
When I was running Media Portal it didn't have these type of problems, the resume would return to normal live television w/o stuttering.
Any ideas on what could help the problem?
I also know there's a wake.cmd batch file that could be used to say shutdown and restart gbpvr. Can this be done? If so the command to start gbpvr seems straightforward but what would I use to shut gbpvr down?
- it contains the long promised Sleep Timer functionality.
- instead of the WMI Win32_OperatingSystem class it uses the Win32Shutdown method to perform the shut down actions. this does not leave some win2k users with the message 'it is now safe to turn off your computer' but actually powers the machine down.
it behaves like the sleep timers of the tvs i know from hotel rooms... by hitting the sleep button on your remote, it displays the maximum amount of time (usually 90 minutes). by repeatingly pressing that button, you cycle down in 10-minutes-steps until you eventually reach 00 to deactivate the timer.
You can define the maximum amount of time, as well as the steps you take to cycle down.
every 5 minutes the timer box is displayed for a couple of seconds to remind you that the timer is active.
You can define the frequency the timer box is displayed, as well as how long it stays on the screen.
the last few seconds (default 30) a countdown (big accross the screen or a little more discret in the timer box) is displayed to give you one last chance to cancel it.
IMPORTANT: if there is a recording running or upcomming, the sleep timer WILL NOT perform the action (except you've selected 'Exit to Main Menu' as the sleep timer action).
sleeping timer and MVP: the 'betas' containing the timer functionality did not work when using mediaMVP. unfortunately i do not own one and can't really test if it works.
as i changed quite some things, this problems _may_ be gone... maybe there are some MVP useres willing to help and testing it..?
