I don't know the first thing about working with GB-PVR and would appreciate it if someone would enlighten me.
I purchased a DELL E510 that included an MCE05 TV tuner. It works with Windows Media Center edition. I tried installing the GB-PVR software but received several errors about unable to register various .ax programs. It won't run the configure utility.
What I would like to find out is this. If I install XP Pro on that system, will the gbpvr software be enough to enable me to view and record tv programming, with that card, or is there more that would be needed?
I have built a new machine to serve as my gbpvr server and just installed v0.98.13. The capture device is a PVR150 that performs flawlessly in the WINTV application. When selecting live tv in gbpvr, the video displays, but channel change commands are ignored and/or it switches to just static. Same results when gbpvr attempts to change channels to record, you either get the first channel or static.
I have attached the logs.
I have tried everything, including a total reinstall to no avail.
Announcing the new ShowBurner Util complete with full installer, and burning program built-in! No longer needing Nero to burn, no longer need ffmpeg proxy to work within the GBPVR Video-Library transcode menus... http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/ShowBurner
Simple installer just asks where you want the temp files stored, and the drive letter of your dvd burner drive.. It uses registry to find location of GBPVR, and edits the batch file for this and other info, and automatically adds the needed profiles to the config.xml for you..
The batch file now runs directly from the GBPVR\third party\ dir so should be no problems with that anymore..
Also added sqlite3.exe for title/description access,so that limits it to sqlite but really you should change if you haven't..but even if you still run Access,it will work, just no subtitle/descriptions, only titles...[from filename]
Any suggestions for improvements for looks welcome, [cool backgrounds etc.]
Feel free to edit the batch or use the ideas for your own uses...
[same thing could be used for que'd encoding as well, very easily adapted]
My local cable provider (Time Warner) has recently changed up some channels. I updated the EPG, but the changes aren't being reflected in GBPVR.
Using Zap2It - I check my channel lineup on there and it shows the correct channels.
I'm thinking I need to empty the EPG and re-add. But I'd really like to avoid since that will cancel all my pending recordings and it's a pain to re-setup both my inputs (STB + Tuner).
i have trouble getting the gb pvr server to run on the mvp
i am using a direct crossover cabel to connect my computer, and i shut my computer off everynight.
i find myself stopping and starting the media mvp server (the one that came with the box) to get the gb pvr to take over
my question is....
what can i do to make it that when i start up my computer i can just turn the media mvp on, and watch tv, without having to do anything on the computer
Hi all,
Been lurking for a while trying to get upskilled! Great Forum you have here Sub, (and ya'll!). Reason for coming in from the cold is I think it's finally time to move from my steam powered current model, to something a little more.....
present day! I have had an ATI TV tuner for about, a long time, and want to now go whole hog.
So I looked at ATI again, but decided that Hauppauge would be the way to go. So I thought a PVR 500 and a Nova S Plus would be a start, but then found the HVR 3000, and now of course read about the HVR 4000. (Would run a pair of HVR's). I was really hopeing Sub, that you would offer an opinion on the above, and also what you are using down here. I see you are useing some Twinham product as well. I thought a pair of HVRs would be good because as Freeveiw is introduced (maybe....soon....) I would be able to go Sat. for all TV. I don't know enough to see where the 4000 will shine. (I see it is S2). I haven't been able to find a 3000 down here yet, and I can only find one listing for the 4000, but it's not in stock at the moment. (http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=326953).
New computer will be built, am leaning Gigabyte M59SLI-S5, Athlon64x2 Dual Core 4200, 2GB Ram, with maybe a Gigabyte 7600GT graphics card (7950GT??). Will run home office, internet, and do all TV recording, DVD playing etc. Should say, I can get PVR and Nova S('s) at a good price in NZ. And are there really any issues running 500's with Dual Cores?
So, please feel free to comment away on tuner choice, and of course new computer spec.
Thanks!
well, since i upgraded to 98.8b ive been getting this error for a few weeks now, and the only way to solve it was to update my EPG, dont know why that would temporarily fix it, but now i am just annoyed of having to update my EPG everytime i close and re-open GBRVR to watch live tv, so i was wondering how do i fix this?
I already allowed gbpvr.exe and recordingservice.exe in my NOD32 IMON settings. i checked the log and this is what i got:
11/11/2006 8:02:18 PM.734 ERROR [1] Error: msg=0x202 (WM_LBUTTONUP) hwnd=0x8051a wparam=0x0 lparam=0x18800ac result=0x0 : System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it
This seems to be a recent problem. I've noticed that a number of my recordings have failed.
Event log error at 3:58 on 11/11/06:
Faulting application GBPVRRecordingService.exe, version 1.0.2483.34960, faulting module PsiParser.ax, version 0.1.0.0, fault address 0x0000a000.
I get tv listings fine, but when I click the "Live TV" button I recieve the error - "Error: Input string was not in a correct format." Also I am able to view live tv when I click the map digital channels to epg channels in the GBPVR setup under tv tuner.
I'm using Z-Process and after a little troubleshooting adjusting Trans2MVP parameters I came up to a solution that at least allows me to watch 1 movie per session. The question is: why if I try to watch a second movie, the screen goes black and stand still... or it simply resets to the gbpvr Video Library GUI?
My actual Trans2MVP settings are:
CPU priority: normal
Final Output: 352x264 PAL, FrameRate: 25, Channels 2, Video Bitrate 4000.
The other textboxes are left blank.
