  Device Priority
Posted by: 2leftfeet - 2020-06-14, 04:50 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (2)

The wiki says that for device priority selection , the priority is:

  • Top of the list downwards to use for recording.

  • Bottom of the list upwards to use for Live TV.

Would it be to hard to implement an option where priority for Live & recording are in the same direction?  I have a combination of a few cable tuners and many OTA tuners.  My preferred priority would always be OTA first, regardless of recording or watching live - to optimize my use of tuners.

As always, thanks!

  Inconsistent sound issues with IPTV
Posted by: Bunkermentality - 2020-06-14, 02:27 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (10)

Using web app to view IPTV channel 2537 it plays OK as does channel IPTV channel 2724. Using windows client 2537 does not have any sound except for an occasional squeak. 2724 "sometimes" reports "Missing audio?You don't have a mpeg1 decoder  selected. You can fix this on the settings->decoders screen".

Other channels do display sound ok.

These symptoms are inconsistent and seem to change if I sample other channels.

Log files are attached.

  Remote access - securely
Posted by: Ricknextpvr - 2020-06-14, 02:08 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (7)

I have V5 setup on a PC in my house, and am thinking about accessing it remotely from a PC elsewhere.  I know that I can port forward 8866 and setup a PIN.  However, I am not comfortable with this.

I have a remote access application currently - a sprinkler system - and I'm using NOIP to provide a domain that links to my dynamic IP address.  I also use a certificate on both ends and that makes me feel better.

Has anyone done this, or something similar, with NextPVR?

  Server hangs on script
Posted by: markn62 - 2020-06-13, 10:25 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (8)

Any idea what causes the server to go into a non-stop script execute?  Think it does it when I rescan devices.  Maybe this is why rescan doesn't appear to do anything. Have to stop and restart the server to abate it.

  updateepg using NScriptHelper is not allowed after recent V5 release upgrade
Posted by: fwpvr789 - 2020-06-13, 09:17 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (5)

Hi,

I have been using NextPVR 5.0.1 for almost half year and just upgraded it to 5.0.5 a few days ago (and to 5.0.6 today). The following command stopped working after the upgrade

C:\WINDOWS\system32>"C:\Program Files\dotnet\dotnet.exe" "C:\Program Files\NextPVR\NScriptHelper.dll" -server:127.0.0.1:8867 -pin:0000 -updateepg
[1] Starting EPG update...
[1] <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<rsp stat="fail">
  <err code="13" msg="Not Allowed" />
</rsp>

Is there any change to the protocol in the server? and how do I achieve the same function in the new version?

Thanks!

  Interface Improvement for Kodi Nextpvr Addon Timeshift Navigation
Posted by: aderlopas - 2020-06-13, 08:14 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (8)

Hello,

An idea for improving kodi Nextpvr addon...
Not sure if this is possible as I am not sure how much it can be customized, but I'll list it anyway...

Right now, UI has two main levels:

1 line which is the bar that can be moved using left/right to seek backward/forward
2 line which has the remaining controls

Because line 1 when the bufer isreally long such as mine (3 hours) becomes a mess when seeking backwards/forward, what about if:

We could add one more line above line #1 that will show pictures (thumbnails) each one of which corresponds to 10 sec after/before frame. Then we could move with left/right on this line and whichever picture we press "OK" on, then the addon would request a seek to that exact time...

This way, we can see really where we want to go, and we don't just blindly press left and right controls to go where we want...plus we avoid accidental seek operations on sensitive remotes as only after pressing "OK" to confirm seek operation would be sent to Nextpvr Server...

What do your think?

  ...\web\temp Files
Posted by: jcole998 - 2020-06-13, 05:27 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (6)

I review each day the logs of my daily backup which includes folder c:\users\public\npvr-data\web\temp. The log showed hundreds of files of the form:

2020-06-13 11:51:00.800 [DEBUG][35] [FFMPEG]: [hls @ 01f6e500] Opening 'C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\web\temp\Aurora Teagarden Mysteries-18369c7ec4914ca79f4bb4497a45c549.m3u8.tmp' for writing
2020-06-13 11:51:00.809 [DEBUG][35] [FFMPEG]: [hls @ 01f6e500] Opening 'C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\web\temp\Aurora Teagarden Mysteries-18369c7ec4914ca79f4bb4497a45c54969.ts' for writing

You will see these entries in the attached nrecord.log beginning at 2020-06-13 11:47:55.313.  I was recording Aurora Teagarden Mysteries.S01E02.Real Murders.ts at that time.

Can you tell me if these files are important? I tried to delete the folder but was stopped by the system claiming NextPVRServer still had them open. Huh?

Hope you can help.
