Hi,

I've just uploaded an updated version of the dbox recorder plugin at the wiki.

Now, it is possible to synchronize scheduled recordings (on the gbpvr-side) with appropiate timer events on the dbox. If enabled, each scheduled recording in gbpvr will be added as a “RECORD” timer event in the dbox by using the timerd-interface of neutrino. Then, the dbox will wake up from deep-standby for a scheduled recording and enter standby again when it’s finished.

I have a annoing problem with the installer. Every time I reboot the PC, the windows installer is starting and wants to install GB-PVR.


If the GB-PVR Install file is not where it was during installation (I tried from desktop and from C:\) I'am asked to give the location of the file GBPVR09516.msi.

But after this setup is completed the application is still not working. In the Webinterface I have error you can see in the [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND].

Next step is to run the config.exe and hit OK without changing anything. Now everything works as expected. But all this is repeating after every reboot! :eek:

The strange thing is, that I had the exact same problem before on this PC. But there where a lot of other things to. So, I reinstalled the OS completely. Im running XP SP2 with latest patches. Language is german, but this is not the reason since before I had an english OS (XP SP2 too).

And Yes, I have full admin rights, .net 1.1 and 2.0 with servicepack anf hotfix as well as the msi-update WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.

I'm thankfull for some tips.

Just a trivial request but as others have already asked for instead of sleeping but to also include when recording will next start, i'd like as well as "Recording <programme title>" for it to also show the actual start and end time, maybe not just of the show to also the pre and post padding.

If there's something I want to do on the PC, like a conversion, it would be handy to know when it's done without having to load an instance of gbpvr or the web interface to see what's scheduled.

I was wondering if anyone could help shed any light on a problem I have intermittently.

The machine was set to record two shows last night, the first one recorded fine, the second 'Bush Tucker Man' only created a 6KB file,

i just got a cheap second pvr card which is a conexant 23880 video capture (NTSC). and i cannot get Gb pvr to recoginize it. can someone help me out here and give me some advice on how to set this up and get it running. My first pvr card is a hauppauge pvr-150 and it works great. i would like to get the second one up and running.

Tonight I completed the last element in a skin design concept that I have been working on for the past several months. Before introducing the new skin to the general community, I would like to introduce the concept to all the regular developers.

I will take some liberty and make the introduction in two parts, one tonight and part two sometime within the next 48 hours.

I actually have a valid point to make by doing this and hope that you find the intro and the concept intriguing. If not, at least mildly amusing.

Hello -

I use my bluetooth Wireless Mouse instead of a remote but Im finding that support for this in GBPVR is lacking. Since a mouse does not have a built in back button like the remote does, navigating menus is becoming very difficult. For example, when adding a city using the Weather plugin, I can't navigate backwards to change a country if I accidently select the wrong one.

Other plugins such as the My ____ plugins suffer from this problem. Rather than plead to have all the plugin developers change their interfaces to always include a shortcut backwards, wouldnt it be simpler to have the right mouse button universally serve this function? Is there a way to program GBPVR to do this without waiting for a new version of the program?

In general, a stronger ability to customize the functions of the GBPVR mouse, remote, and keyboard buttons would be very useful.

If theres no way to fix this, consider this a feature request.

There were captured with a USB-uirt if that maks any difference.

Now everyone with some graphical skills can make a skin.
To make it possible for translated texts to fit in button, I have been working on a skin with "common" sub menus, with different skin "Themes". Everything is very flexible and easy to skin. I have a "included" guide on how to use skin files and graphics.

Even my 11 year old daughter made a "Pink Paris Hilton" skin in 20 minutes with the ImageEditor tool.

The objective is to make it as simple as possible for "Graphical Designers" to make new skin designs.
Just change a couple of images and you have a new design.
Run a batch file and you got a new look and feel of GBPVR.

AdVisor Themes Skin Contents
AdVisor XML Layout Themes files can be found in the "Main Menu.Name" folder and its Sub folders, "SkinRoot" and AllTaskImages". The AdVisor skin can have different Grapical Themes with different Color styles for each Theme.

This skin shows how to use a transparent mask for the "top bar". How to use task images in the main menu.
