  goto [my pictures] [recordings]
Posted by: stefan_k - 2005-03-10, 09:51 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi,
Well guess this is the better place for this topic 'in stead of wishlist'.

Went over config-tool multiple-times, and just cannot find it. Tried all keys-> nope.

Any way i can goto [my pictures] and [recordings] by a keystroke? or by remote?
(like F1, F2,....)

Stefan

M2 and Stereo recordings (or Live-TV)
Posted by: lif - 2005-03-10, 09:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Here in Estonia our cable-tv operators offers channels with M2 audio (dual-language). For example Eurosport has two mono audio streams, one with commentaries in English and other in German. When watching Live-TV or recorded show with M2 audio, it is absolutely annoying not being able to choose witch audio stream to listen. Or is this function already hidden somewhere inside gbpvr?

  recordings audio volume

When starting to watch the recording, for the first two seconds the audio volume will have more db than the rest of the recording have. Is it the bug in recording or playback?

  text-tv
Posted by: lif - 2005-03-10, 09:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

At first, my suggestion to sub to use TEXT button on the new 45btn remote by default for television text. 45btn remote doesn't have FUNC button.

And now the question: Is the text-tv stream saved along with inside the mpeg stream or not? If not, is it possible to include it into recording?

PS. Sub, thanks for integrating text-tv into gbpvr, I needed it for a long time!

  resume and end of show
Posted by: lif - 2005-03-10, 09:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Two a little bit annoying things to mention which previous version didn't have, but current has.

1) when gbpvr asks user to restart or resume recording playback, the background frame flickers one frame back and forward. I don't know, is it because of interlacing picture or what. This also happens when playback has reaced to the end of recording.

2) When the playback of recording has come to the last frame, the last frame is shown infinitely. It waits then user response on remote to press back/exit. It would be glad if there will be a timeout for about couple of minutes and then it itself exits to recordings menu. For example, I have setup XP to go into hibernation after 15min of inactivity. But when the last frame is still active, it never goes into hibernation and computer will consume power forever if there will be no manual human action.

Starting to view currently recording show
Posted by: lif - 2005-03-10, 08:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Is it the issue of Intervideo codecs or is it the bug of current version, but when starting to view currently recording show, it begins to play from beginning and no rew or ffd is possible, also show length is reported as 0:00, although player counter increases normally.

Previous version didn't have this issue.

  Live-TV show info / length
Posted by: lif - 2005-03-10, 08:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

When watching Live-TV the previous version had a green bar on top of screen and a pointer which showed the current time position in the show. Current version doesn't have it? Or is it hidden somewhere?

  live-tv hangs after channel change
Posted by: lif - 2005-03-10, 08:46 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

ASUS Pundit-R / PVR-150 / XP / intervideo

Previous version (23) worked very slowly on Live-TV channel change (about 9 sec), but it worked. Current (90) switches channels like it should do (0,5 sec), but after switching between three-four channels, it stills with the first frame from chenged channel, but audio continues to play. Exit to main menu and again to Live-TV and again up to three changes.

Is it the of bug or ...?

TIP: Automate can be your maid
Posted by: capone - 2005-03-10, 08:37 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

I'm someone w/ a "why in the #### is it doing that" GB problem that most do not have.  In looking for something to help out, I can recommend Automate.  I had a copy left over from some kiosks my company was contracted to build.

This is for the ppl who need programs/system/services/etc to shut down, retstart, excecute cmds, et al.  It has some real friendly, and yet advanced and flexible, functions you can do in manual or wizard form.

For example, I need to restart gbpvr.exe once a day (to clear live tv files...the glitch).  I told Automate to, at 3:50am,

- press esc 2x, pausing for 25ms in between presses (to back out of live tv, if I left it on)
- close it
- wait 15sec
- restart recording service (for the #### of it)
- wait 15sec
- start it again
- make sure it has focus

Additionally, I can have it perform a behavior on error, or ignore it (eg, if it can't focus, keep going)

There are programs for free like pskill and visualcron I could combine to do much of this along w/ some bat files, but if you want a real handy and powerful tool, Automate works real well.

  Recording Service Refresh
Posted by: jsather - 2005-03-10, 07:34 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (6)

Hi-

I placed an entry into the RECORDING_SCHEDULE table and started waiting on the recording (35 minutes before the show was supposed to start). It didn't happen. I restarted the service and it started recording. Is the Recording Service not refreshing itself? Another thread indicated that it refreshed every 10 minutes or so. Is this true or do I need to restart the service everytime I add an entry? Is there a way to adjust the refresh rate?

Thanks,
Joel
