Service stopping due to devicehost errors
Posted by: jobby99 - 2024-10-07, 09:15 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (3)

Trying to figure out what these event viewer error messages are telling me.  I am on 23H2 Windows and reinstalled the drivers again with no issue.  I then turned off core isolation, even though technically shouldn't have to do that with the drivers, because they install with no issues.  I have the USB quad tuner and PCIE quad tuner (first model) from Hauppage and a HDHR connect.  All tuners have the same antenna feeds.  One channel that is local gives out a lot of signal and is always at 100%.  I think I may be getting over signal on this RF 18 (CBS and CW), but can't do much about it as the other channels need the boost.  Recently, had string of failures from RF 18 stations, but now I am getting NEXTPVR SERVICE stopping due to the devicehost errors.  Not sure what to do at this point.  Maybe, I will try a different operating system.  Been happening on/off for like a year.

Help with PostProcessing.bat and Episode names
Posted by: TVHelp - 2024-10-06, 08:45 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (3)

I am installing the latest NextPVR on a brand new computer (Windows 11).  My old computer only had the desktop app (Windows 7), so I am trying to adjust things.  My old batch jobs are not working with the new setup.  I noticed the directory changes from NPVR to NextPVR and made those updates but am continuing to get error right from the start of the batch job:
'The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect'
Do you have any documentation on NScriptHelper that I can reference?

Here is first part of the batch job:
REM @echo off
cd "C:\Users\Public\NPVR-Data\scripts"
set NSHelper=C:\Program Files\NextPVR\NScriptHelper.exe >>MyBatch.log
set subtitle=?
FOR /F "tokens=*" %%i in ('%NSHelper% -title "%~f1"') do SET title="%%i"
FOR /F "tokens=*" %%i in ('%NSHelper% -subtitle "%~f1"') do SET subtitle="%%i"

Goal is to rename and insert the subtitle (episode name) then run a closed caption extraction after that.

However, after some debugging it seem the TV guide no longer contains episode info so subtitle is returning the title as well.  I can't remember if I did something special to get that 10 years ago when I first setup NPVR. Do you know what I need to do to get that?

Thank you!

How do I adjust the skip time in the IOS client?
Posted by: BigBillSD - 2024-10-06, 06:55 PM - Forum: NextPVR iOS and AppleTV Clients - Replies (5)

The only thing in settings is what channels can show.  Is there a special way to bring up the real client settings menu?  I've never seen anything like this, so I am assuming I am just clueless.  -Bill

Help Automating M3U Channel Refresh NextPVR on Unraid (AMD64)
Posted by: mcs_94 - 2024-10-06, 05:50 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (5)

Hey everyone,

I’m hoping to get some help with automating the process of refreshing my M3U channels in NextPVR. I’m running the amd64 version of NextPVR on an Unraid server, and I have multiple M3U sources, including regular TV channels and sports channels. Right now, I have to manually refresh the channels through the NextPVR web interface to keep everything updated, but I’d love to automate this to make my setup more seamless.

What can I do to accomplish this?

Thanks!

  EPG Does not update
Posted by: rband - 2024-10-04, 09:51 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (2)

Since I upgraded to 6.1.5.231022, I haven't been able to the EPG to provide a compete channel guide.  Only a few channels show any information and the majority are all showing "no listings"- see the attached screenshot.  Schedules Direct found no issues on their end - any ideas?

Question Remote server access
Posted by: bitoclass - 2024-10-03, 10:32 PM - Forum: NextPVR Android Client - Replies (1)

I have the NPVR app on Android but I'm a bit confused about how to set it up for remote access.

I have remote access working fine on a web browser from outside my network, but I currently cannot connect from the Android app.

I can't check what the PIN was set to but I have typed a new one into the NPVR Settings in the web browser. This input box doesn't offer a 'save'/'confirm' button so I guess it saves the new PIN when I switch away from that part of Settings?

I assume the two entry fields when setting up a server in the Android app are for IP address and PIN? I have tried IP with and without :8866 on the end, and PIN in the second row, but it never successfully connects in the app.

Am I missing anything obvious about how to set this up? Thanks!

  Windows 24H2 - Can't install Hauppage Drivers
Posted by: Lao Pan - 2024-10-03, 11:29 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (6)

This morning I updated the HTPC to Windows 24H2 from the latest ISO (in-place install)
All appeared OK until I tried to watch TV - both the Hauppage QuadHD PCIE card and the PCTV USB dongle were not recognized.
First I tried reinstalling the drivers using the WinTV v10 installer which complained that  C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers/BdaSup.sys is corrupted - and on continuing, couldn't find the tv card.
Next I tried copying the said file from the Windows OLD folder - but it gets overwritten each reboot.
Tried System file checker which couldn't repair all the corrupt files - then Repaired using DSIM, but still no luck.

Finally, I rolled back to 23H2 just before the wife came down wanting to watch TV. Thankfully all went back to normal.

Is there anything I have forgotten to do - it's a long time since the last full upgrade on the HTPC?
Or is this a known problem with a workaround?
Or no workaround - which will mean staying on 23H2?

Any thoughts or advice gratefully received.

I don't think logs would have been any use.

  NPVR upgrade on RPi 4
Posted by: billierios - 2024-10-03, 03:40 AM - Forum: NextPVR Support - No Replies

I have been using NPVR 5.0.1.200103 installed on a RPi 4 (4GB, Raspbian Buster 290919) since it was released without any obvious problems.

Following the release of the latest Raspbian last week I upgraded to this version today and then also upgraded NPVR to the newly released 5.0.1.200209 using:

sudo dpkg -i nextpvr-helper.deb

after checking that nextpvr-helper.deb was v1.2

The upgrade seemed to go well except for a warning that I didn't have the zlib package installed.  Given that the old version seem to work ok, and as far as I can tell the new version of NPVR is also OK, do I need tio worry about this ?  I have attached the upgrade log file and the post upgrade NPVR logs for you to see.

Little Help on setting up Extras device - template
Posted by: bigstusexy - 2024-10-02, 09:16 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (6)

Okay I'm pretty sure I did something wrong,

I'm trying to setup an Extras Device, using the template method.  I started with a green setup (also anyway to remove old devices?) but used an already working xmltv.  I have added the device and channels. The setup kicks off the batch file that changes channels and seems to start ffmpeg, but the temp file never grows and I get an error that the transcoder exited when I try to test live TV.

Extras:

Code:
<extras>     <channel name="{channel-name}">       <command>cmd</command>       <args>/c c:\users\public\NPVR-data\streamy.bat {channel_d1}-{channel_d2}-{channel_d3}-{channel_d4}</args>     </channel>   </extras>

streamy.bat
Code:
@echo 2nd-blast %1 >temp.blst putty.exe -ssh "[redacted]"@192.168.1.108 -pw [removed my password too] -m .\temp.blst "\Program Files\NextPVR\Other\ffmpeg.exe" -rtsp_transport tcp -i rtsp://192.168.1.114:8554/main/av -vcodec copy -acodec copy -f mpegts rem del temp.blst

I know it's not deleting the temp blast file, it doesn't need to, I just thought of doing that while testing.  The command for ffmpeg works just fine on its own, if I append a file destination it'll create a file of the stream.  I've ran the batch (augmented too) I have also changed the nextpvr service to run as a network service. I noticed the extras instructions had an extra " - " at the end of the command but none of the examples I've seen have it.

  Audio issues
Posted by: Stanno - 2024-10-02, 11:42 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (19)

Hi all,
I was having video issues (picture break up) so decided to acquire a new HTPC (Beelink EQ13).  I set up NPVR using my USB backup drive as a D: drive and everything was fine.  I then transferred my 2TB NVME data drive with all my recordings from the old PC to the new one where it appeared without issues as D:.
However, now, when I play the recordings, the video is slightly choppy and the audio is out of sync, although it does seem to catch up eventually.  The audio on live TV is fine.  I have just made a couple of test recordings and the audio on those seems fine, so it's just the old recordings (I have tried several, all the same issue).
I am using the NPVR windows client and a Hauppauge USB tuner.  I have 32-bit LAV foilters installed and all decoders set to LAV.  Logs attached.
Any thought/comments would be welcome.  Thanks.
Stanno

Edit : PS - the new recordings are Homes Under The Hammer and Come Dine With Me The Professionals, others are previous ones.
