Recently Nextpvr version 4.25 has stopped recording shows that I have set all episodes. Will not a allow me to make a new selection all episodes selections. My Capture card is WinTV 885. The shows do not have conflicts. My EPG is Schedules Direct. Zipped log files are attached.
I have been experiencing major lip sync issues with NextPVR 5.2.x .
Almost every time I start playing back a recording, the audio is off with the video by at least a second. Usually, hitting stop and resuming fixes it, but not always. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 attempts to do it.
Combined with Comskip, this is massively annoying, as the lip sync issue happens again almost every time a commercial is skipped.
I have seen this problem randomly in the past, but fairly rarely. Not to the extent it's happening now.
The entire UI also has gotten way slower in recent builds. All manual skip and rewinds are choppy. It's at the point where it's nearly unusable. I have a pretty beefy HTPC, and it just shouldn't be a problem.
I've noticed that the stream selection for Pluto TV is Best in pluto.py and I'm wondering if there is a way to change which stream to use. I'm asking because I was downloading a number of episodes of a show and I soon got hit with notice from Comcast that I had used up my data allotment for the month. I'm thinking it's because I'm downloading high resolution versions of the video when I really only need 720p.
Is this even a correct assumption? Could I change that and reduce the data size for each episode? Is this something that can be selected during the setup of the extra for Pluto TV?
Having made the move from v4 to v5 two or three weeks ago, I have a really annoying problem.
Most evenings long after the final recording of the day should be finished the PC is still running. This only happens after NPVR records a TV program!
For example last evening it was set to record four TV programs.
"The Long Call.S01E03" ITV 21:00 to 22:00
"Shetland.S06E02" BBC One 21:00 to 22:00
"Bump.E01S03" BBC One 22:25 to 23:05
"Bump.E01S04" BBC One 23:05 to 23:35
Plus 15 mins padding at both ends of all recordings for safety.
I found that at approximately 00:30 the PC was still running!!
The Desktop Gadget displayed no recoding activity.
The system tray indicator was green and showed no activity.
But when I opened NPVR/settings/device status it showed that "The Long Call.S01E03" was still recording.
My only solution at this point was to save the log file and restart the PC after which it then went to "sleep"
On checking this morning the "The Long Call.S01E03" recording is only 1hr 33min so it appears to have stopped recording but not disconnected from the tuner.
I am having trouble identifying why, I have only used this version for a few weeks.
I have recently changed my TV Guide from XMLTV to Schedules Direct, and deleted all pending recordings and set them up fresh.
I have re-installed the latest version of NPVR after first shutting down NPVR Services and NPVR Server.
Quick Edit!!
I forgot to add that when I have looked in the recording folder after deleting the recording a file is left behind "The Long Call.S01E03.ts.map"
This Hauppauge 850 and nextpvr works fine on my older HP core 2 duo. No matter what decoders I use, everything is choppy on my faster HP I7. It's not a bad signal. I tried LAV, ffdshwow and Microsoft dtv-dtv with many combinations and it's still choppy. I unplugged all the usb devices and tried every port and still the same thing. I know my usb is fine since I tested it with my Airspy R2 sdr which works at the full 10msps. I tried using MediaPortal and it does the same thing. So it's something to do with the decoders/codecs or maybe the two different Windows 10 OS builds I have. I'm at a loss.
After I put in the NShared and NextrPVRUI dlls a few days ago to fix the Duplicates in the recording list, I started having a problem with the nextpvr server mysteriously stopping. The Linux server was still running and I could access the shares directly in KODI, but the recordings stopped happening and the clients could no longer find the server. I had to reboot the Linux server to get it started again.
It failed sometime between late Sunday night and 9pm Monday but I didn't notice until I tried using a client tonight. I restarted the server and it was working, but it seemed to crash when I was in the client and I was trying to scroll thru my long list of recordings to get down to the Supergirl recordings.
I looked at the end of the log file for the 2nd to last log and it shows roughly where I was in the scrolling as the final entry. The newest log is after rebooting the server.
The new android client was very responsive at scrolling and I had the down button on the DPAD of the remote held down due to the long scrolling needed. Perhaps it overloaded the app with all the SQL gets. It would be nice to have some way to jump faster in the list with just the limited Dpad remote of he Chromecast with GoogleTV. I know I can use the apps on my phone to act as a remote with a keyboard, but this time I was using the ONN knockoff of the Google TV, and I never tried to see if the Google app worked with it.
Any ideas?
I missed several shows that were supposed to record on Monday night because the server was not running. Any way to check if the NextPvr server is running in a shell script? If so I can perhaps write a chron job that checks to see if it is running and notifies me with an email or text.
