I looked at NextPVR as I wanted a piece of server software to have my IPTV subscription on, and then be able to connect my Kodi clients to it.
The reason I wanted to do this is to centralise the IPTV alongside my terrestrial tuners in one backend, so the frontends are all presented with the same channels from my server.
However IPTV channels hosted by NextPVT seem to buffer to an unwatchable level when played back on my Kodi clients, whereas SD and HDTV channels played back on the same clients are perfectly good.
It led me to wonder whether anyone gets good output by sharing out IPTV in this way?
i noticed there were updates overnight and now, coincidentally, using the Microsoft MS DTV-DVD that I went back to using a while ago because it's the best for me, no longer works. Anyone else having this problem?
Swapping to elecard mpeg2 decoder works but isn't as good a picture.
I just download the NextPVR and it works well , I can see the channels on my local laptop, but I would like using KODI loaded on another laptop to access through Web server the channels ; well on my remote laptop punching the IP address and the port 8866, the web comes up with credential request; I put: "admin"as username but I don't know the default password,because i can't see it anywhere i would like you to coach me and tell me where to find the default password to access the GUI.
It seems to be 10 characters long.

So, I occasionally end up with a run of IGL where there is an error at the end of "database is locked". The files get renamed, but the database doesn't get updated for the new name. It doesn't really bother me that the database doesn't get updated, since I don't watch the recordings made through NPVR, but I make use of the new name that is returned to do some other post-processing.
So, how do I avoid this, or how should I proceed when this happens? I just experimented and tried running it again, but I guess since the files were already renamed, nothing happened and it doesn't return the name.

Receiving a "Method not found: 'System.String NUtility.EPGEvent.get_Significance()'." error popup message when doing almost anything in Next PVR.
Historically I leave the program running as the service and let it do it's thing. I then have MCEBuddy to convert the video files to formats usable on the tablet for trips to/from work and flights. I rarely have to open NextPVR except to delete the original recordings and add new programs to record. I noticed this morning when I went to try add a new program to record, I received the above error message. This locks up Next PVR and I have to kill it and restart the program. Anything I attempt to do, even just watching a video file results in the above error message. I have attached the logs and text from the popup dialog messages.
NextPVR version: 3.9.2
Any assistance that can be provided will be greatly appreciated.

I have Colossus connected to a Verizon Cable Box via component video. The Cable Box is set to ALWAYS output 1080i. I am getting HD recordings with no major issues.
My question is this: Where in the config file are the bit rate settings for this setup? I always thought they were the <mode720p>, <mode1080i> and <modeSD>. Recently, I happened to notice there is also an <ANALOG> setting (not in the HDPVR list). Since I believe the component video is actually an analog input, this got me wondering. Can someone clear this up? Am I using the correct settings for the Colossus?
I'm a recent convert from Myth and have a pair of questions, first my setup:
Server dedicated to Only NPVR... Mostly Headless, though I can login to it as needed. Running Windows 7. Connects to an HDHR3-US
3 Client PC's all running Windows 10
I've got 1 question and 1 issue.
1) Is the NPVR Recording service necessary for client systems? I'm testing on one client and don't have any issues thus far, but wondering if anyone knows the official answer.
2) The odd issue is this... For the last two days I've awoken to one of two tuners on my HDHR3-US locked. So far it's happened twice in a row, only happened overnight (which makes me think it could be a maintenance event) First time I rebooted the HDHR and it cleared... Second time I rebooted the Switch and it cleared. I can't make it happen, and am wondering if anyone has a clue on to what could be causing it.
Bonus question!!! Because I run this Server Headless I'm tempted to save my Win 7 licence and not activate it... anyone else ever done that? Can't imagine it would cause problems in my use scenario but wondering.

I'm very new to Nextpvr, having stayed with WMC for the past few years.
As a background I'm located in Melbourne, Australia.
I have just installed Nextpvr into a Windows server 2008 virtual machine. Tuner is Hdhomerun.
On a Windows 7 machine I have Kodi client.
Everything works except subtitles (or maybe it's known as closed captions)
On the Kodi client, I can't get subtitles to display on live or recorded TV.
On the web client (serverIP:8866), clicking on closed caption on live or recorded TV also does nothing.
Another test is copy out the .ts recording file and use VLC to play, turn on subtitles. This test does show subtitles, but the subtitles look very blocky huge font size.
I'm wondering is this a problem on Nextpvr or Kodi ? And is this fixable ?
Foolishly (maybe) yesterday I updated to 3.9.2 so I could update JustRetro for the wiki
Today on my sittingroom NMT I can no longer listen to a playlist (which I do nearly every day) using sub's music plugin as it will only play each track for 15/20 seconds before moving onto the next track. Clean logs attached of only this process after re-starting the recording service.
