Pause graph when stopping a channel?
Posted by: Swift_gti - 2013-12-17, 09:24 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hi,

I've recently made the switch from Mediaportal to NextPVR and have noticed my channel start times seem longer than with Mediaportal.
I recall that within Mediaportal there was an option (which I had enabled) to always pause the graph instead of stopping it, this seemed to help a lot with startup times.

We don't tend to 'switch' channels, as I'm using XBMC which makes that a bit clunky, so we usually stop the active channel, drop to the guide and then choose another channel.

Is there any option that can be configured for NextPVR to always pause the graph? (I'm using a HDPVR2 and TBS DVB-S2 cards if I makes a difference)

Thanks!

  Failing to start 2nd tuner
Posted by: abower911 - 2013-12-17, 02:19 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I have an ATI 650 Pro PCI and ATI 650 Pro PCI-E, both were running together just fine(over a month) then all of the sudden anytime it tried to use both at the same time one of them is failing. I'm not familiar enough, or I should say haven't learned yet, how to read the log files.

I uploaded a copy of all my log files as well as filtercheck.

Driver version for both ATI Unified AVStream devices is 6.14.10.314

Gotham: Intermittent 'Tuner no longer available'
Posted by: Swift_gti - 2013-12-17, 01:03 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (41)

I've recently made the switch to NPVR and have it configured using two Pi's running XBMC (Gotham build of Dec 15th) - The addon version is 1.9.5.

Sometimes when trying to start a channel I get an error 'Tuner no longer available' but if I look at NTray.exe status it shows the tuner is writing to a file for the channel I've tried to tune. The NPVR log doesn't seem to contain any glaring errors either..
I have attached logs (including XBMC) of a tuning attempt that generated the error message, then I pressed stop (in XBMC) and tuned the same channel, that time it works fine. (So the log is 1 failed tune, followed by 1 successful).

I did a bit of googling, and some people suggest disabling the timeshift feature in the addon (seems to be on by default) but if I turn it off then I can't start any channel at all!

Any ideas what could be going wrong?

eyeTV diversity and eyeTV remote control
Posted by: John1089 - 2013-12-16, 09:18 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

New to using nextPVR and this forum, so not certain if this question has been answered before, cannot find it in a search.

I have a eyeTV diversity receiver (USB plug in device) which came with a eyetv remote control. I have installed npvr which works fine with the diversity receiver.

The remote control does not work, does anybody know what needs to be done to make the eyetv remote control to work with npvr ?

Software is Windows 7 - 32 bit with latest updates.

  Analog tuner NPVR
Posted by: imagn - 2013-12-16, 03:01 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Hey Everyone,

I am in the process of setting up an NPVR solution for my mom and at the moment i have digital working fine. I however have been unsuccessful in getting the analog tuner to be recognized in NPVR. I read the wiki section and tried to do the batch file softpvr install. i then noticed that the tuner was not added in the list.

I am trying to use a dell angel usb tuner (worked fine in GBPVR) but have been unsuccessful in getting it to be recognized in NPVR. Any help. I am attaching the fiter log and would appreciate any help in what needs to be added to the file. In addition can someone confirm that the wiki method of extracting the softpvr info still works

Thanks
Imagn

at last, I've found a product that I can use
Posted by: hyperactive - 2013-12-16, 01:21 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

Hello there.
For the best part of a week, I have been searching high and low for a good PVR program that was easy to use.
When the digital switchover occurred last week, I thought my old USB TV card, a pinnacle pc tv device, would be able to pick up the digital channels, but it couldn't, it only did analog.
I had been using a commercial product called snapstream Beyond TV to listen to and record TV shows with the device. It was a great piece of software, but development was stopped in 2010 and the product is no longer supported.
I bought a new TV tuner stick, a Kaiser Baas and tried to use beyond TV with it, but it couldn't find any digital channels when I initiated a scan.
Then I tried using the total media package which came with the card, but because I am totally blind, I could not use the software because it did not play nice with my screen reader and I had to get sighted assistance, however, It was able to pick up a few channels, so I knew the tuner stick wasn't faulty.
Oh well, it was off to google for some research.
after many hours I came across Next PVR and downloaded and tried it, and was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to use. Even though the main GUI can't be used with screen readers, I can still use the right click menu and navigate with the arrow keys and enter on the option I want, and there's also the web interface which is quite accessible to people using screen readers.
Unfortunately, I do not yet have a roof mounted antenna, so I can only get a few channels, but it's better than nothing.
Once again, thank you for this wonderful product. Perhaps a digital amplifier would suffice in the meantime.

Unable to scan for new Freeview (UK) HD channels
Posted by: McBainUK - 2013-12-15, 12:04 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

According to news reports I should be able to receive 5 new Freeview HD channels (BBC Three HD, BBC Four HD, BBC News HD, CBeebies HD and CBBC HD). But, scanning with NextPVR I can only get two of them (BBC Three HD and BBC HD). Any knowledgeable people got any ideas?

note: My TV signal comes from the Rowridge (Isle of Wight) transmitter. I have tried scanning using the "Rowridge" and the "All frequencies" scan options.

Can't use the web interface to configure nextPVR
Posted by: hyperactive - 2013-12-15, 05:11 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Hello there
I am a new user to Next PVR and I think it is a fantastic product. I have just installed it, and am trying to make some configuration changes via the web interface, but when I try to access the page, it brings up a newa login screen. What is the username and password I enter in this field? I don't remember configuring any username or passwords.
Thanks.
